About us

We design and implement optical systems for automated quality control in industry. We combine innovative optical systems using advanced automation, electronics, and dedicated software based on artificial intelligence and neural networks.

We optimize processes and eliminate errors in production. Machine learning allows us to fully eliminate manual inspection of products, which can be expensive, has poor repeatability, and is often inaccurate.

Our applications are used in industries such as pharmacy, food industry, cosmetic industry and construction materials industry.

Our company started as a start-up formed at the Warsaw University of Technology in 2012 by a group of students, including doctoral students, from the Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics. Since the very beginning, our main corporate goal has been the transfer and implementation of state-of-the-art technologies developed at the university in practice and in industry. What makes KSM Vision different from other tech companies?

Unlike the competition, KSM Vision designs the most up-to-date systems based on the concepts of Industry 4.0 and "machine learning". What does it mean for the Customers?

  • The production quality control systems based on neural networks are more flexible and “reactive” to changes and deviations from a predefined pattern. They are constantly “learning”, while relying on variable data that appear during the production process.
  • In order to adapt the networks to the customer’s products, we conduct a supervised learning procedure by creating a database. It forms the basis for the algorithm to automatically determine thousands of parameters enabling the detection of product defects. What makes that approach beneficial is that the supervised learning procedure can be performed by a person with basic technical education, and a well-trained network can detect defects that were not included in the training set.
  • Detection of new defects that were not foreseen during the system implementation.
  • High responsiveness to production needs allows the operator to add new reference images and “re-trains” the system on an ongoing basis.
  • Higher reliability – high-resolution control in areas, that used to be difficult to access using standard (catalogue) components.
  • Ergonomics – smaller dimensions reduce space requirements and enable installation of systems on existing production lines.

Modern, computerized quality control systems for industry are designed not only to detect potential manufacturing defects, but also to collect, view, compare and analyse all data on the production process.

Defect classification used over a longer period of time can also help to optimize the technological process. That is the case when, for example, a lot of defects of a given type can be linked to a failure or suboptimal parameters of one of the production machines.

As a result, our applications are able to provide customers with online feedback on their manufacturing process or potential problems with machines and production. That includes automatic archiving, reporting, notifications and alerts, all based on the analysis of huge data bases and data mining algorithms.
